Large number of Sangat pay obeisance at Golden Temple on Prakash Gurpurb of Guru Gobind Singh

Amritsar, January 9, 2022: The Prakash Gurpurb (birth anniversary) of Sarbansdani Sri Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru was celebrated with devotion at Sri Harmandar Sahib.

A large number of Sangat (pilgrims) paid obeisance and had a holy dip and also listened to Gurbani Kirtan at Sri Harmandar Sahib.

On the occasion of Prakash, Gurpurb grandeur was decorated at Sri Harmandar Sahib, Sri Akal Takht Sahib, and Gurdwara Baba Atal Rai Sahib.

The Sangat had started arriving at Sri Harmandar Sahib early in the day and the influx continued for the entire day.

Meanwhile, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) held a bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib dedicated to Gurpurb at Gurdwara Manji Sahib Diwan Hall. The jatha of hazuri raagi Bhai Gurpreet Singh connected the Sangat with Gurbani Kirtan. The ardas (prayer) was offered by Bhai Baljit Singh and the holy hukamnama was recited for the Sangat by Bhai Harmitar Singh.

During the congregation at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib, the groups of raagi, dhadis, kavishar, pracharaks and Panthic poets attended the event and shared the life history of the tenth Guru with the Sangat.

During the bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib, those present on the occasion included the manager of Sri Darbar Sahib S. Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, superintendent S. Malkit Singh Beharwal, S. Sukhraj Singh, S. Baghel Singh, S. Satnam Singh, S. Nishan Singh and more.
