Lawyers, forensic experts to help police against drug mafia: DGP

Khanna, January 20: The Punjab Police are taking serious steps against the drug peddlers in the state.
The Punjab Police now will recruit nearly 400 advocates and forensic experts against the drug mafia, so that the peddlers will not get acquitted by the court. This was said by the DGP, Suresh Arora, while talking to media persons at SSP Office Khanna.

He said these advocates and forensic experts will be recruited by the Punjab Police. They will be posted in all police stations in Punjab to help police officials to increase the conviction chances at the time of registering cases against all those who are promote drugs and related to this menace .

He said the aim was to recruit advocates and forensic experts is to stop large acquittals of the peddlers, so that drug-sellers could be convicted in cases registered by the police in different police stations of state.

He said this process will be started very soon in the coming days. The DGP appreciated Khanna SSP NS Mahal and his team for solving a number of pending cases.
