Chandigarh, December 29: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal urged the people of Punjab to join ‘Peace March’ in Patiala on 31st, in maximum numbers to show anti-social or malevolent elements that every community in Punjab is united and no one can break their brotherhood.
In a video message addressed to the people of Punjab, he said that incidents like sacrilege attempt and Ludhiana court blast are attacks on Punjab and Punjabiat.
He reiterated that sacrilege attempts at Sri Harmandir Sahib is a matter of great sorrow and then Ludhiana court blast, proves that some politically motivated elements are trying to disturb the peaceful atmosphere and communal harmony of Punjab.
He also slammed the Channi government for failing the people of Punjab and paying more attention to their own power positions than the security and safety of people.
Kejriwal said, “Such incidents are getting frequent because elections are around the corner. It is same like 2017, when Captain Amarinder Singh swore on ‘Gutka Sahib’ the he’ll put the culprits behind the bars. But even after five years Congress government has done nothing. Congress is busy with their civil war instead of paying attention to security and law and order in the Punjab.”
He added that such objectionable elements work only for their political agenda and gain.
He further added, “Punjab is the land of gurus. Here people of all religions, caste and communities live together in peace and harmony. So, people of Punjab won’t let these anti-social elements succeed in their dirty political tactics. In this peace procession in Patiala, we’ll together pray for Punjab’s peace and brotherhood.”
On 31st of December, ‘Peace March’ will begin from Sheranwala Gate in Patiala at 11AM under the leadership of AAP’s National Convener Arvind Kejriwal along with their Punjab President Bhagwant Mann. He urged people to join this procession, with their families and friends, to show their solidarity for Punjab’s brotherhood.
