Chandigarh, September 22: The licences of 18 private de-addiction centres in the state have been suspended with immediate effect, informed an official spokesman of Drug Administration Wing.
Giving details, he said the samples of Buprenorphine and Naloxone collected from these centres were not found to be of standard quality. He informed that it is the responsibility of the concerned Centres to ensure the quality of drugs being dispensed at their Centres. In view of this, licence for substance use disorder treatment centre, granted to these Centres has been suspended under Rule 11 of the Punjab Substance Use Disorder, Treatment and Counselling and Rehabilitation Centres Rules 2011.
Besides, a show-cause notice has been served to them as to why the drugs dispensed by them were not of the laid down quality. The sentence have been asked to submit their representation within 15 days and failing to do so would result in cancellation of the licenses, informed the spokesman.
The centres whose licences have been suspended include, Parivartan drug Dependence Treatment center, Amritsar, Pankaj Verma Neuro Psychiatry&Drug De-addiction Centre, Ludhiana, Prayaas, Ludhiana, Ekam Hospital, Moga, Barnala Manorog Hospital, Barnala, Puneet Kathuria Prem Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Sangrur, Kapurthala Psychiatric Nursing Home, Kapurthala, Max Super Speciality Hospital De-addiction Centre, Bathinda, Satkar drug dependence treatment centre, Fatehgarh Sahib , Dr Ajay kaushal, Mindcare hospital Fatehgarh Sahib, Beniwal Hospital, Fazilka, Kirpa Psychatric &drug de-addiction centre, Hoshiarpur, Sandesh Hospital, Ludhiana, Vardaan Drug Dependence Treatment, Patiala, Pragati Psychiatry and De-addiction Centre, Pathankot, Asha Drug Dependence Treatment Hospital Nawanshahr, Sukh Psychiatric Hospital and De-addiction, Muktsar Sahib and Nirmal Chhaya Psychiatry & De-addiction Centre, Tarn Taran.
