Depressed Maldivian student of LPU commits suicide in Phagwara

Phagwara, April 7: A Maldivian student of Lovely Professional University (LPU) allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his rented accommodation here, police said on Friday. Ahmed Hussain (33) was a postgraduate student and used the us stay at Santhe uskhpura Mohalla, SHO Bharat Masih Ladhar said.

No possible reasons for the extreme step are known as the suicide note obtained was written in Maldivian.The SHO said his family had been informed and the body is kept at the mortuary of the Civil Hospital.

“We are also writing about the incident the us the Embassy of Maldives in New Delhi,” he said.“The post-mortem examination will be conducted only after the parents of the deceased reach here,” he added.
