Chandigarh, January 22: Punjab and Haryana reeled under cold weather conditions on Monday with Karnal and Ludhiana being the coldest places in the region with a low of 3 degrees Celsius each.
Chandigarh recorded its low at 7 degrees Celsius, an official of the MeT department said here. In Punjab, Amritsar recorded its minimum at 3.2 degrees Celsius while Patiala braved cold weather conditions at 5 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal.
Pathankot, Adampur, Halwara, Bathinda, Faridkot and Gurdaspur recorded their lows at 5.3, 3.4, 5.3, 5, 5.5 and 6.5 degrees Celsius.

In Haryana, minimum temperatures in Ambala, Hisar and Rohtak settled at 7, 3.6 and 5.4 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Minimum temperatures in Narnaul and Bhiwani were recorded at 3.5 and 7.5 degrees Celsius.
According to the MeT department, fog was witnessed in some areas, including Karnal district in Haryana. PTI
