CHANDIGARH, JULY 4: Amidst sustained peak power demand levels, due to continuous efforts of the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) Ludhiana industry has started operations from afternoon today.
Ludhiana industry regulation is over and the Continous Process Industry in the state except those dealing in essential services will be allowed to operate at 30 percent capacity from Monday, the Chief Managing Director (CMD) PSPCL A Venu Prasad said here today. The electricity supply is satisfactory despite fault at second unit of TSPCL which is being rectified, he further said adding that all-out efforts are on to bring the overall power supply to normalcy at the earliest.
Units dealing in esenetial services including poultry, rice shellers, telecom and call centres have been exempted from these restrictions and are allowed to operate fully, he added.
Assuring the Industry sector of fullest support in regaining full working potential soon, the CMD said department is fully committed to ensure uninterrupted quality supply to all sectors. With paddy sowing season on full swing, the department is also ensuring uninterrupted 8-hour supply to farmers across the state, the CMD pointed out.
All efforts are being made to balance the demand and supply equation at the earliest to avoid any hardship to any citizen, he added.
