Mahila Kisan Union announces complete boycott of AAP, BJP in Jalandhar Lok Sabha elections

Jalandhar May 2 : The Mahila Kisan Union, a member of the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha, has called for a complete boycott of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during the by-election in the Jalandhar Lok Sabha constituency, saying that both the parties have totally failed to safeguard the interests of farmers and labourers. The union alleged that the duopoly had cheated the peasants at every step and did not implemented the demands of the farmers even after agreeing to them, so both the outfits should be taught a lesson by giving them a crushing defeat in this election as a ‘vote ki chot’.
Announcing this after a meeting of the union here on Tuesday, the Mahila Kisan Union president Biba Rajwinder Kaur Raju said the whole world is well aware of the dreaded role and oppressive policies of the BJP and its unbridled leaders during the historic kisan andolan against implementation of black laws. Even after accepting written demands of the farmers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not yet implemented them and not given any relief to about 750 dead farmers, due to which the entire farming community and farm labours of the country was strongly opposing this pro-corporate and rightist party that is creating a Hindu nation.
Taking a dig at the ruling party in Punjab, the woman farmer leader said this novice outfit is using the name of Shaheed Bhagat Singh but it is far away from the ideology of Shaheed-e-Azam thereby the people of Punjab have gone disenchanted with this party very soon. Biba Raju said despite giving assurances in dozens of meetings with farmer organizations during the last one year, various ministers of this dispensation including the Chief Minister, have not fulfilled any major demand till date.
He alleged that this social media created party, its government and their national convenor Arvind Kejriwal had cheated the farmers of the state by giving ‘guarantees’ for the last two years. Neither sale of narcotics has ended from Punjab nor farmers’ suicides have stopped, so the electorates of Doaba have a better opportunity to teach this party a lesson in the Jalandhar by-election after the crushing defeat given during Sangrur Lok Sabha constituency by-election.
The farmer leader declared that the Mahila Kisan Union would boycott AAP and BJP during this by-election and appeal to all the voters of the entire Lok Sabha constituency to vote for any other party so that both these parties should be taught a befitting lesson and learn to respect the mandate of the people besides work for the common people.
