Major set back to Congress ahead of MC elections, many Congress councilors of Jalalabad join AAP

The Congress has suffered a major setback ahead of the municipal elections to be held in Punjab. On Wednesday, several Congress councilors of Nagar Panchayat Arniwala joined the Aam Aadmi Party. Party’s State General Secretary Harchand Singh Barsat and Jalalabad MLA Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy inducted all the leaders into the party fold.

Councilor Harbhajan Daas Meet Pradhan from Ward No-9 of Nagar Panchayat Arniwala, Councilor Rani from Ward No-5, Councilor Shiv Bhalla from Ward No-7 and senior leader of the area Ajay Kukkar joined the Aam Aadmi Party here at the party headquarters in Chandigarh.

On this occasion, Punjab General Secretary of the party Harchand Singh Barsat said that the people of Punjab are highly impressed by the public welfare works of Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi and Punjab. People have high expectations from the party. He asserted that like the assembly elections, the AAP will register a landslide victory in the municipal elections.

Likewise, the leaders who joined the party said that considering the extraordinary work being done by the Bhagwant Mann led AAP government in Punjab, they have decided to join the AAP. Together with the party, they will work for the development of their area and the state.
