Mayor and Commissioner ride cycles from their residences to MCC office

Chandigarh, September 22:- Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor, Chandigarh and Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh rode bicycles from their residences along with other officers and officials of MCC on Wednesday on the occasion of world car free day.

While speaking on the occasion the Mayor said that world car free celebrated across the globe, encouraging motorists to give up their cars for a day to keep ourselves fit and healthy we should cycle to work atleast once in week.

The Commissioner said that there will be numerous benefits of going car free to the officials and citizens as well including reduced air pollution and the promotion of walking and cycling in a safer environment.
