Faridkot, April 24: Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) on Monday announced the cancellation of the second round of counselling for postgraduate (PG) medical courses.
The counselling to fill PG seats in seven medical and 11 dental colleges was scheduled from April 24 to 26 at Faridkot.
Keeping in view an order of the Supreme Court, the counselling has been postponed till further orders, said Dr Arvind Sharma, registrar, BFUHS.
As the Supreme Court has stayed the reversion of vacant 50 per cent all India quota seats to the state quota seats and the matter will be heard by the Supreme Court on April 27, so the second round of counselling in the state has been deferred, awaiting the apex court decision, said the registrar.
Medical Counselling Committee has also notified today that the vacant PG (MD/MS/Diploma & MDS) seats under 50 per cent all India quota for the academic session 2018-19 may not be treated as surrendered/reverted/transfer back to state government/colleges till further orders of the Supreme Court.
