Nawanshahr, February 20: Under the Punjab government’s flagship programme “Ghar Ghar Rozgar”, the district administration organised a ‘Mega Job Fair’ on Wednesday.
Some 2185 job aspirants turned up at the Job Fair where prominent 28 companies interviewed them and selected 1172 eligible youth. Besides, as many as 209 aspirants have also been shortlisted by different employers and as many as 190 youth were provided Self Employment ventures at the Job Fair.
Prominent companies that came for the Fair included Hero Cycles, Reliace Jio, Demore Solutions, SBI Life Insurance, Bharti Axa, GI (Godrej Group), Axis Bank, Rockman, Saint Gobin Glass, Highway Industries, GNA, Friends Auto, Quantum Paper Mill.
While handing over the appointment letters to the successful candidates, Deputy Commissioner Vinay Bublani wished them the best for their future. He exhorted the youth to tap the employment avenues and their dedication, hard work and experience would surely help them reach their goal.
