Minister conducts surprise check at various branches of public works department

In a bid to streamline the functioning of the department, Punjab Public Works Minister Mr. Harbhajan Singh ETO, on Friday, conducted a surprise check in three different branches of the department located in Punjab Civil Secretariat-2.

During the meeting, the Cabinet Minister also hold a meeting with officials of the department and thoroughly reviewed the working. He instructed to expedite the process pertaining to provide jobs in 11 cases of compassionate ground.

The Minister exhorted the employees to work diligently and in a time bound manner in the public interest, saying that an employee should be determined to perform his government service properly and without corruption. The PWD Minister also directed the officials to furnish a detailed report within a week about the repair of government buildings, ACP of employees, arrears and pensions etc., besides reprimanding the employees whose work was pending and appreciating others who were performing their duty with utmost dedication.
