Minister’s Flying Squad caught five cases including diesel and ticket theft: Laljit Singh Bhullar

The “Minister’s Flying Squad” constituted on the directions of Punjab Transport Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar, reported five cases including diesel and tickets theft.

Divulging further, S. Laljit Singh Bhullar said that during checking at the bus stand of Sri Ganganagar (Rajasthan) last night, driver Arvinder Singh of Punjab Roadways Chandigarh bus no. PB-65 AD 2125 caught red-handed pilfering around 20 liters of diesel from the government bus.

Similarly, checking conducted at Nahan (Himachal Pradesh), wherein conductor Harpal Singh of Tarn Taran Depot bus no. PB-02DR 2798 has been reported in the case of ticket theft. He took Rs.98 from the passengers but did not give them tickets. During the checking at Sirhind Bridge, bus No.PB-04-AE 1999 of Moga Depot reported for plying on unscheduled route.

The Transport minister said that action has been taken against the driver in the case of listening mobile phone while driving the bus and endangering the lives of the passengers. During checking at Phagwara, driver Vinod Kumar of Bus No. PB-10-FF 3936 of PRTC Ludhiana depot, was found attending cell phone while driving the bus. Apart from this, passengers sans tickets were also fined.

The Transport Minister instructed the Director State Transport to initiate departmental action against the reported drivers and conductors.
