Moga, 10 December 2020 – Free vaccinations are to be provided to the residents of Moga district to protect them from the worldwide Covid 19 pandemic, for which preparations have been initiated by the district administration. A district-level task force has been constituted to ensure the smooth running of the entire process, the first meeting of which was held at the meeting hall of the local district administrative complex. The meeting was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Mr Sandeep Hans.
Mr Hans said that trials of three vaccines were in progress in the country at present, out of which trials of two vaccines had passed all three rounds while the trial of one vaccine had reached the final stage. It is hoped that next month a vaccine will be announced for people across the country, for which preparations have also started in Moga district. He said that this vaccine would be administered free of cost to every person who has been issued an Aadhaar card.
Mr Hans said that special sites would be selected for administering the vaccine and special duty would be imposed on the staff. He directed that selection of sites and selection of vaccinating staff should be done at the earliest. He said that under the Mission Fateh launched by the Punjab government, every resident of the district would be vaccinated as soon as possible.
Mr Hans clarified that first of all this vaccine will be given to the health workers and other workers working in the front line. After this, it will be the turn of all other residents of the district. Lists are being prepared in this regard. Mr Hans directed the officials of the Health and other departments to coordinate with each member of the task force in this whole process to ensure that a WhatsApp group is formed. If any officer has any concerns he can immediately share them in the group. The process will be reviewed every week.
