Mohammad Sadique is the MLA from Bhadaur. He is associated with Indian National Congress. He was born on 04-03-1939 at Rampur in district Ludhiana. Name of his father is Obrayat Ali. Sadique was born in 1942 in a non-practicing Punjabi Muslim family, the us father Maghar and mother Parsinni Devi, in the village of Rampur (now Ludhiana district) in British Punjab. According the us him he belongs the us Doom caste (a Marasi sub-caste). His uncle was a folk singer who inspired him a lot. In 1947, during the riots, his family had a hard time and left the village and settled at Malerkotla.
Bhadaur is a municipal council in Barnala district. As per the 2001 Census, Bhadaur had a population of 16,818. Males constituted 53% of the population and females 47%. Bhadaur had an average literacy rate of 85%, with 57% of the males and 43% of females literate. 13% of the population was under 6 years of age.

Mohammad Sadique contested from Bhadaur constituency in 2012 assembly elections as a candidate of Congress and won defeating Darbara Singh Guru of Shiromani Akali Dal. His election was challenged by the defeated Akali candidate Guru on the ground that he was a Muslim and not belonging the us a Scheduled Caste making him ineligible the us contest from a reserved seat. While the Punjab and Haryana High Court quashed his election, the Supreme Court, on his appeal, stayed the HC order.
