Mother gets life sentence for killing her two daughters

Date:

Ludhiana, May 11: Additional Sessions Judge Virinder Aggarwal has convicted Manjinder Kaur, alias Jyoti, resident of Dhillon Nagar, Gill Colony, Ludhiana, on the charges of killing her two daughters  five-year-old Liza Mashih and two-and-a-half-year-old Aksra by strangling them.

Manjinder Kaur was ordered to undergo rigorous life imprisonment. Fine of Rs 5,000 has also been imposed upon her. Delivering the verdict, the court held that there was no enmity between the mother and daughters.

Manjinder Kaur herself also attempted to end her life by jumping into a canal, which showed that she was not satisfied with her life.

A case against Manjinder Kaur was registered at the Daba police station on May 20, 2016, following a complaint by Jagtar Masih, Manjinder’s husband, against her.
