Fatehgarh Sahib, April 30: The Fatehgarh Sahib police claimed to have busted a gang of motorcycle lifters with the arrest of two members of the gang.
Eight motorcycles, stolen from different parts of the state, were recovered from their possession.
Dr Ravjot Grewal, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Fatehgarh Sahib, said that for the past many days, the police were getting complaints of vehicle theft.
She said that the police, on a tip-off, erected a ‘naka’ at T-point Madhopur chowk under DS Khakh, DSP (Investigation), Fatehgarh Sahib.
There, the police signalled to a motorcycle to stop for checking. But the bikers tried to speed away. After a chase, they were overpowered. They were identified as Ranjit Singh, a resident of Ghel village, and Amrik Singh alias Lucky, a resident of Dangherian village. Ranjit is the kingpin of the lifters’ gang.
