MSG stores and restaurant-cum-cinema shut in Faridkot district

Faridkot, August 30: Most of MSG stores and a restaurant-cum-cinema in the district were closed on Tuesday in spite of lifting of curfew and resumption of business activities. Sources said there was uncertainty over opening of these establishments.

In the past year, the Dera Sacha Sauda has reportedly opened more than 400 stores in the state. Most of the stores have been allotted to dera office-bearers. All domestic items, including flour, rice, biscuits, grams and confectionary items, are sold under the MSG brand.In Kotkapura, a number of police personnel have been deployed outside the restaurant-cum-cinema in the aftermath of violence by dera followers in Panchkula on August 25. Only the movies of dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh are screened in the cinema.
