Murder or Suicide: Dead body shuttled between two hospitals for postmortem

Ferozepur, November 28, 2017: On Monday late evening, the dead body of 22 years young boy – Kamaljit Singh – was shuttled between two hospitals – local Civil Hospital and Medical College Faridkot for the postmortem on the pretext of jurisdiction in the case of murder or suicide.  Later on, the dead body was kept at the Aggarsen Chowk and traffic was jammed by the family members.

Added here that on November 26, the parents of Kamaljit Singh deceased had taken the body to the hospital for postmortem but the same was not done that it is too late now and it will be done on the next day at 11 am. When there was suspicious about the suicide by the young boy, it was referred to Medical College Faridkot for postmortem. The Medical College too returned the body that there is no letter from Director Health Services on this account and in case the Civil Hospital wants to get it done here, they should send their doctor and the issue will be settled by constituting the board.

However, Pardeep Aggarwal, SMO said as per the notification of the Punjab Government, in the suicidal cases, the postmortem has to be got conducted from the forscenic experts and the dead body was referred to Medical College.

Later on, the Civil Surgeon, Dr.Gurinder Singh reached the spot and settled the issue with the family members of the deceased saying that it is the mistake on the part of Medical College Faridkot and tomorrow the postmortem will be carried out.

Kamaljit Singh is reported to be the son of a Sub-Inspector in Punjab Police and his dead body was found near Water Tank which was identified later on. Just two days back, Kamaljit Singh had purchased a new motorcycle for Rs.65,000.  Apart from this, he was having about Rs.20000 in his pocket, sources said.
