Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) senior leader and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and AAP candidate Dr. Jeevan Jyot Kaur issued special election manifesto for Vidhan Sabha constituency Amritsar East in the form of ‘Sankalp Patra’. Manish Sisodia sharply attacked PPCC president Navjot Singh Sidhu and said that in Sidhu’s ‘Punjab model’ there is only I, I and I have to be the Chief Minister. There is nothing for the common people of Punjab, women, youth and especially for the Amritsar East constituency.
Releasing the ‘Sankalp Patra’ for the development of Amritsar East Assembly constituency here on Wednesday, Manish Sisodia said, “Delhi Chief Minister and party Supremo Arvind Kejriwal is a staunch patriot. Kejriwal has a vision for the country in his heart. That is why Akali Dal, Congress and e BJP leaders oppose Kejriwal.
Sisodia lambasted Navjot Sidhu, saying that for nearly 16 years, the Sidhu family had been winning the assembly constituency by getting votes from the East, but the Sidhu family had done nothing for the development of the constituency and have not provided facilities to the common people. 90% of the streets, drains and roads of the constituency were in poor condition. There is logged water on the roads as there is no proper sewerage system. People told that when they go to Navjot Sidhu to get their work done, Sidhu does not meet them at the office nor at home. He alleged that Navjot Sidhu, despite being a Member of Lok Sabha and a Cabinet Minister, could not build a single government college or hospital in his constituency. The condition of schools here is bad. If there is no development of focal point then why should people of the constituency vote for Navjot Sidhu?
Criticizing Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia, Manish Sisodia said that Majithia had been granted bail by the Supreme Court for only till election. He can go to jail at any time. So why should the people of constituency vote for Bikram Majithia?
Sisodia said that AAP candidate Dr. Jeevan Jyot Kaur deserves the votes of the people of this constituency as she has done a lot work in education and medical sector of this constituency. They want to make this constituency the best constituency not only of Amritsar but of the whole Punjab. He said that Dr. Jeevan Jyot Kaur has prepared her developmental ‘Sankalp Patra’ by consulting with the people of Amritsar East and hoped that the people will strengthen the Aam Aadmi Party by electing Jivanjot Kaur.
On this occasion, Dr. Jeevan Jyot Kaur said that the major issues of Amritsar East are garbage dump, high voltage power lines, clean drinking water, construction of roads, sewerage system, development of vegetable market and development of focal point and all these issues have been ignored for a long time. She said that beside the promises of ‘Sankalp Patra’ her aim is provide good education and best medical facilities to the people of her constituency.
