New set of helpline numbers to address emergency services in Punjab

CHANDIGARH, APRIL 17: The Punjab Government has launched a series of toll-free helpline numbers to ensure timely and quick redressal of various medical and essential services issues of public importance during lockdown. 

Disclosing this here this today, State Head Covid-19 Control Room Rahul Tiwari said that dedicated facilities including 112 for lodging any law & order related issue or complaint and 104 for all medical related needs have been launched with a single point agenda to provide counselling and de-stressing advice to people during these critical times. 

Besides, a general helpline number 1905 has been made functional where people can take all necessary information about supply and availability of items of daily home use, Tiwari further said adding a separate number 108 facility has also been launched where ambulance service could be requested for. 

It may be recalled that state government has also launched a special helpline 1800 180 4104 for citizens to connect with a network of senior doctors over tele-conference and get medical advice on Covid-19 and other related concerns. 

Reiterating state government’s commitment to provide the best of health and allied services to citizens, Rahul Tiwari assured that all concerned departments were operating in a cohesive manner and were fully geared up to meet any challenge. 

Urging people to keep following all health and social distancing protocols, he said this was the time we should all do our best to complement stupendous efforts of our frontline health warriors who were fighting this battle for us.
