No holiday tomorrow, clarifies Punjab govt. all offices, boards will function normally

Date:

Chandigarh, March 22: The Punjab Government has clarified that there would be no holiday tomorrow i.e. March 23, 2018 (Friday), on Martyrdom Day of Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh.

It has dismissed as fake and malicious an alleged press note being circulated on the social media, and quoting an spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office to announce a holiday.

All Government offices, Boards, Corporations and Public Sector Undertakings would function as usual, the government has clarified, adding that strict action would be taken against those spreading false rumours on the issue. The culprits would be identified and penalised under the provisions of the Information and Technology Act-2000 dealing with the Cyber Crimes.

An official spokesperson said a state-level function, to be presided over by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, will be held at Khatkar Kalan tomorrow to mark the Shaheedi Divas, which will also witness District and Sub Division level functions where citizens and volunteers will be administered an oath against drugs.
