No need of NOC for transfer of personnal vehicles within Punjab: Razia Sultana

Date:

Chandigarh, November 6:

For the transfer of non-transport vehicles registered in Punjab, now the applicant has not to go to the original registering authority to get NOC of vehicles to be transferred in the new registering authority on account sale etc. Requirement of NOC has been removed by Transport Department of Punjab. Transport Minister Razia Sultana said that all the processing is now done through an online system i.e Vahan 4.0 and all the information related to vehicles like taxes, fees and fitness etc are available to the registration authority so now onwards for the transfer of non-transport (personal) vehicles registered within the State of Punjab there will be no need of the owners to visit offices for issue of NOC.

It is pertinent to mention that in the present system for the transfer of non-transport (personal) vehicles the applicant has to go to the original registering authority to get NOC of vehicles to be transferred in the new registering authority on account sale etc. Now they will be able to get their vehicles transferred by applying at the original RTA/SDM offices online, where the vehicle is registered, thus saving time and long process to visiting different registering authorities for the transfer of vehicle.

Transport Minister informed that more than 1 Lac personal vehicles are transferred every year within the state. “However all Transport vehicles (commercial) and other State registered Non Transport (personal) vehicles will continue to provide NOC for the transfer” she added.
