No place for corruption in Health Dept: OP Soni

“There is no place for corruption in health department as long as I am minister in-charge of the department and any king of corruption will not be tolerated at any cost”, said strictly the Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Om Prakash Soni, on Tuesday, while directing the senior officers of the department to take stern action against the officials involved in any illegal practice.

Chairing a meeting to review the progress of various schemes and projects of the health department, here, Mr. Soni instructed the department officials to implement Citizen Charter in all the government hospitals to sensitize the people about the facilities being provided by the state government.

The Deputy CM directed the PHSC officials to complete all the initial work for setting up of new maternity centers within a week, while asking them to ensure the completion of other projects by the end of this November.

Mr. Soni directed the officials to ensure the procurement of high quality equipment and products for hospitals. He also asked all the senior officers posted at the headquarters to make two field visits in a week, besides starting temporary recruitment in the Civil Engineering Wing of Punjab Health System Corporation to complete all the ongoing projects on time.

Principal Secretary Health and Family Welfare Mr. Alok Shekhar, MD NHM Mr. Kumar Rahul, Punjab Health System Corporation MD Mr. Amit Kumar and other officials also presented in the meeting.
