No special package for Punjab in Budget 2022-23 shows centre’s vindictiveness against Punjab: Mann

Date:

Chandigarh, February 1

Reacting to the Union Budget of 2022-23, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab President and Member of Parliament, Bhagwant Mann said that centre government was so focused on their ‘corporate friends’ that they completely neglected common people and middle class of our country. Mann said that no special package for Punjab or the farmers of our country is a proof of BJP government’s vindictiveness against them. Mann also took a dig at jobs announcement and said that from 2 crore jobs to 60 lakh jobs only but, how will centre govermnet provide these jobs since they have already sold major government sectors to private players.

AAP leader said that government has again ignored Punjab’s long standing demand of rail link between Rajpura and Mohali. According to Mann this link would have also weakened the transport mafia in Punjab. He said that centre government has proposed developments in railway sector under PPP model that means now they want to give reins of this sector to their corporate friends too. He said that the budget was so focused on benefitting the big corporate houses of India that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman did not even addressed the issue of inflation, setbacks that education sector has been facing due to pandemic, farmers or unemployment in our country.

Bhagwant Mann raised the question that Modi government is constantly selling government sectors of India, how will they provide jobs. He said that BJP government have no plans or roadmap to provide employment that’s why number was reduced from 2 crore jobs to 60 lakh jobs. Mann said that FM has launched PM Gati Shakti program and included 7 engines in it but she failed to mention that her government has given the steering of each one of these engines to the private players. Mann concluded that this union budget was a big disappointment for the common people of our country and middle-class felt left out since government has failed them badly.
