Nominations for National Nari Shakti Puraskar-2020 invited

Nominations have been invited for the National Award (Nari Shakti Puraskar-2020) in recognition of exceptional work for women empowerment.

Disclosing this here, an official spokesperson of the Social Security, Women and Child Development Department, Punjab informed that the Ministry of Women and Child Development has invited nominations for the Nari Shakti Puraskar-2020, the Highest Civilian Honour for Women in India.

“The coveted award is conferred on those persons, who have been working incessantly towards the cause of women empowerment and have made outstanding contribution towards upliftment of women in the society”, he said, adding that nearly 15 Nari Shakti Puraskars will be awarded on March 8, 2021 i.e. on International Women’s Day.

Giving details about the eligibility criteria, the spokesperson said that nominations are open to individuals, groups and institutions for outstanding work towards empowerment of women, individual applicant must be at least 25 years of age, institutions must have at least five years of experience.

He said that nominations/applications along with desired documents could be submitted online only on www.narishaktipuruskar.wcd.gov.in and other modes of submission would not be considered. The last date for submission of nominations/applications is 31st January, 2021. Guidelines and application form can be downloaded from the website of the Ministry of Women and Child Development (wcd.nic.in), added the spokesperson.
