Nominations Invited for annual national award, Nari Shakti Puraskar

Chandigarh, December 31: The Union Ministry of Women and Child Development has invited nominations for the Nari Shakti Puraskar 2019, the Highest Civilian Honour for Women in India. The main rationale behind the award is the recognition of Exceptional Work for Women Empowerment.

Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson said that the coveted award is conferred on those who have been working incessantly towards the cause of Women Empowerment and have made outstanding contribution towards upliftment of Women in soçiety.

Divulging further, the spokesperson said that nearly 40 Nari Shakti Puraskars would be awarded on 8th March, 2020 i.e. on International Women’s Day. The application process is open to individuals, Groups and institutions for outstanding work towards empowerment of women. The Individual applicant must be at least 25 years of age. The institutions applying must have at least five years of experience.

The nominations/applications can be submitted online only on www.narishaktipuruskar.wcd.gov.in portal shall be only considered. The last date for submission of nominations/applications is 7″ January. 2020.

The Guidelines and application form can be downloaded from the website of Ministry of Women and Child Development (wcd.nic.in). The requisite documents are to be submitted on www.narishaktipuruskar.wcd.gov.in portal or can also be sent to the Director, Social Security nd Women & Child Development Punjab, SCO No. 102-103, Sector 34-A Chandigarh, email: srcwpunjab@gmail.com.
