Chandigarh, September 1

The Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) convoy is increasing day by day in Punjab with eminent personalities joining the party. The AAP family grew further on Wednesday when an Olympian hockey player and two other leaders joined the party fold along with their associates. AAP’s senior leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Harpal Singh Cheema inducted and welcomed the leaders at the party headquarters here.

On the occasion, Harpal Singh Cheema said the people of Punjab are impressed by the development works and policies of Delhi’s Arvind Kejriwal government and want the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab too. He said the people were fed up with the sand mafia, liquor mafia, transport mafia and cable mafia and wanted to get rid of this mafia rule; that is why they are joining the Aam Aadmi Party and the convoy of AAP is increasing day by day.

The people who joined the AAP include Balbir Grewal Khanna, former deputy director, Sports, Western Railway and an Olympian hockey player, who had also played in Asian Games. Meanwhile, Gurjeet Singh Kaura, an advocate at the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh also joined the party. He contested election against Abhay Singh Chautala in 2014 from Ellenabad. JDU Mohali district incharge Jasbir Singh also joined the AAP. The leaders who joined the AAP said that whatever responsibility would be given to them, they would work diligently to strengthen the party.
