On 75th Independence Day, Cabinet Minister, Harbhajan Singh hoists national flag in Ferozepur

Ferozepur, August 15, 2022: On 75th India’s Independence Day celebrations, Minister of Power and Public Works, Harbhajan Singh hoisted the National Flag at the district level ceremony organized at Grain Market Ferozepur Cantt on Faridkot Road.

On this occasion, he inspected the contingents of by Punjab Police, Punjab Police Women’s Wing, Punjab Home Guard, NCC from Scout and Guide troops and presented the salute to him.

Earlier, Cabinet Minister also offered flowers of respect to the national martyrs at National Martyrs Memroial at Hussainiwala.

In his message Cabinet Minister, Harbhajan Singh said, our country has become free due to the incredible sacrifices of many martyrs and freedom fighters and on this occasion, we pay tribute to all the heroes and martyrs. We offer flowers of respect to the warriors and heroes who participated in various freedom movements.

Harbhjan Singh said, the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh immediately on taking over as CM Punjab with great support of the people, has taken historic decisions like eradicating corruption, drugs and electricity amnesty on the first day of his government, which are yielding very good results.

He further said that the land of Punjab is full of sacrifices of martyrs and Ferozepur district has the honour of being the land of martyrs as in the freedom struggle of the country, Punjabis made sacrifices for which the whole country is proud of.

The cabinet minister said that the Punjab government is running big plans for the advancement and development of every section of the state, including education, health facilities, farmers, laborers, traders.

He said that Punjab will be made the leading state of the country in terms of development. Talking about health care, he said that in terms of health facilities in Punjab, Punjab will be strengthened very soon.

In this event, personalities who have achieved in various fields, freedom fighters, families of Kargil martyrs, sportsmen, students, officials, employees etc. were honored as chief guests.

During the event, apart from colourful cultural program showing patriotism, the folk dances Giddha and Bhangra of Punjab were also presented.

After the completion of the program, the Cabinet Minister also inaugurated the Mohalla Clinic built in the campus of Water Supply and Sewerage Board office. Speaking on the occasion, he said that a promise was made to open Mohalla Clinics during the campaigning of the elections, which has been fulfilled and 75 mohalla clinics have been opened in the state today on the occasion of the completion of 75 years of independence and Independence Day in which the common people will get health facilities close to their homes.
