On CM’s directives, Punjab government releases Rs. 1.92 crore Ex-Gratia to ‘NOK’ of Galwan Valley Martyrs

Chandigarh, September 10: Recognizing the supreme sacrifice made by the martyrs of Galwan valley, the Punjab Government led by the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Thursday released an amount of Rs. 1.92 crore as Ex-Gratia, Additional relief to parents and cash in lieu of plots for payment to the Next of Kin (NOK) of the martyred soldiers hailing from Punjab.

Disclosing this, a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that the amount would be directly credited into the accounts of ‘NOK’ immediately.

Paying rich tributes to the martyrs, the Chief Minister said that the grateful nation would never forget the sacrifice of these brave hearts and assured that the State Government would always extend every assistance to the bereaved families.

It may be recalled that Naib Subedar Mandeep Singh (3 Medium Regiment) Army No. JC-280111M, Naib Subedar Satnaam Singh (3 Medium Regiment) Army No. JC-287210, Sepoy Gurbinder Singh (3 Punjab) Army No. 2514989F, Sepoy Gurtej Singh (3 Punjab) Army No. 2516683X were among the 20 soldiers martyred on 15/16th June, 2020 at the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
