On Education Minister’s directive special training on scholarship and awards given to school heads

On the directions of Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, a special training session was held for school heads to inform them about submission of applications related to different scholarship schemes and awards through the portal.

The training was imparted through Edusat system so that all the formalities for scholarships and awards could be followed accurately. Assistant Director-cum-State Nodal Scholarship Officer Parminder Kaur while imparting the training briefed about all relevant formalities and procedure to be followed on portal at the time of application.

Disclosing this, an official Spokesperson said that Punjab Government had taken series of path breaking initiatives in education department to further bring reforms in the facilities. He said it was also focused in the training that concerned schools heads and teachers should make a plan to ensure benefits of scholarships to maximum students across state. He said that there were various scholarship schemes based on attendance of students, merits of students and some of related with the results and their merit.

The spokesperson stated that schools heads and principals should go through the instructions after clicking scholarship link on the website of Education Department and then follow the necessary directions in letter and spirit. He said students should also make apprise about the schemes related with their parents. It was also informed in the training session that the entire record of the scholarship schemes should be maintained so that it could be easily ascertained in future, when needed.
