The Indian soldiers, too, responded by targeting the Pakistani posts.

Earlier in the day, Pakistani Army Thursday heavily shelled forward posts along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, drawing retaliation from the Indian Army. This is the seventh consecutive day that Pakistan has violated the ceasefire by targeting forward posts along the LoC.

IAF bombed JeM terror camps in Pakistan’s Balakot and Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir’s Chakothi and Muzaffarabad, in response to the Pulwama terror attack on February 14 which claimed the lives of 40 jawans.

A day later three Pakistani jets tried to attack Indian military installations on February 27. IAF chased out Pakistan Air Force warplanes and shot down an F-16 plane but also shot lost a MiG 21 aircraft.

Pakistan later released footage, showing an IAF pilot in captivity.

A statement from India`s foreign ministry said the pilot`s treatment was a “vulgar display of an injured personnel of the Indian Air Force in violation of all norms of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Convention,” ordering his immediate release.
