Pakistani deaf-mute boy to be released soon

Faridkot, December 20: The Juvenile Justice Board today ordered the release of a 12-year-old deaf-mute Pakisani boy who was arrested by the BSF on May 3 for straying into India without passport and travelling documents.

The court ordered the release of the boy as he had already completed his sentence for the offence of entering into India without valid documents.The Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has also conveyed to the Ministry of External Affairs confirming the nationality status of the boy as Pakistani.

As per the letter from the Pakistan High Commission to the External Affairs Ministry, the boy has been identified as Hasnain, son of Javed Iqbal, resident of Lahore.The Pakistan High Commission has asked the Centre to convey the date of repatriation of the juvenile at the earliest so that necessary arrangements may be made accordingly.
