Parliament will not be allowed to function until farm laws are repealed: Mann

Date:

New Delhi/Chandigarh, July 20

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab president and Member of Parliament, Bhagwant Mann has announced that Parliament will not be allowed to function till the Narendra Modi-led central government repeals the three black farm laws. At the same time, the AAP MP while leveling serious allegations against the Congress, said that except for four or five MPs from Punjab, all the other Congress MPs in the House; instead of speaking against the agriculture laws in favor of the farmers, make a fuss on the issue of Rahul Gandhi’s espionage.

In a statement issued from the party on Tuesday, Bhagwant Mann made it clear that Parliament would not be allowed to proceed during the entire Monsoon Session without repealing the farm laws. According to Mann, this was made clear at a formal all-party meeting before the session began. Mann questioned the intentions and policy of the Congress and said that under what pressure is the Congress not instructing all its MPs to unite and fight against anti-agriculture laws.

Commenting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bhagwant Mann said that the people of the country have listened to the Prime Minister’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ a lot and now they must listen to the farmers, laborers and common people of the country. He said that the farmers of the country have been sitting on the borders of Delhi for the last eight months, but the ruthless central government was not ready to listen to them. “We have all been elected by the farmers and it is our responsibility to raise the voice of the farmers in Parliament against the three anti-farmer laws,” said Mann.

Expressing grief over the submergence of the farmers’ tents and night shelters at the dharna sites due to heavy rain, the AAP MP said the ruling party has become ruthless and has no concern for the plight of the country’s farmers and laborers. Demanding repeal of the black farm laws by the Aam Aadmi Party, Bhagwant Mann raised the slogans of ‘Kisan Mazdoor Ekta Zindabad’ and ‘take back the three agriculture laws’. He further said that when the farmers would come to Parliament on July 22 to peacefully protest against the repeal of the black farm laws; he would personally come forward and support and welcome the farmers.
