Patiala Mandis Surpass Expected Wheat Arrival Target

Due to the arrival of bumper crop in the mandis of Patiala district, the potential target of wheat set at 835753 MT, has been surpassed within 20 days of commencement of procurement.
Disclosing this here today, Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Kumar Amit said that during the previous wheat season 835753 metric tonnes of wheat had arrived in the mandis of Patiala district but this time within 20 days from the starting of procurement, about 8000MT more wheat as compared to the last year has entered mandis. The total arrival of wheat in the mandis of the district has reached 843730 metric tonnes, out of which 840524 metric tonnes of wheat has been procured so far. The Deputy Commissioner said that Rs.1494.91 crore has been transferred to the farmers directly so far which amounts to 92.41 percent of the wheat procured so far. He said that the lifting of procured wheat was also in full swing and so far 72.40 percent wheat had been lifted.
He said that today about 8660 metric tonnes of wheat arrived in the mandis and 8899 metric tonnes of wheat was procured. He said that out of the total wheat procured so far, Pungrain has procured 214186 metric tonnes, Markfed 212190 metric tonnes, PUNSUP 212494 metric tonnes, Punjab Warehousing 141657 metric tonnes, FCI 59147 metric tonnes and traders have procured 150 metric tonnes of wheat.
