Chandigarh, May 11: Extending a helping hand to the State Government for its concerted efforts against Coronavirus and mitigating the hardships being faced by poor and needy, the Staff of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana has donated Rs.72.56 lakh towards CM Relief Fund COVID-19.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson said that Vice Chancellor, PAU Dr. Baldev Singh Dhillon handed over a cheque of said amount to the Food & Civil Supplies Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu.
Expressing gratitude to Vice Chancellor for this benevolent gesture, Ashu said this contribution would go a long way in providing succour to the needy and poor people in these difficult times amid COVID-19.
He also thanked the entire staff of PAU for wholehearted support and cooperation in Government’s relentless battle against coronavirus pandemic.
Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion included; Principal Secretary Food & Civil Supplies KAP Sinha, Director Food & Civil Supplies Anindita Mitra, Director Agriculture Sutantar Kumar Airi and Registrar PAU RS Sidhu.
