Jalandhar, May 15 : Castigating the Aam Admi Party government for ignoring the emergent issues of farmers, the Mahila Kisan Union president Bibi Rajwinder Kaur Raju said the people of Punjab had high hopes from the newly formed dispensation, but the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is adamant and not heeding to resolve the legitimate demands of cultivators alike the anti-farmer PM Narendra Modi government.
Disclosing this here on Sunday the women farmer leader Bibi Rajwinder Kaur Raju alleged that due to the indifferent attitude of AAP government towards farming community the indebted farmers are committing suicides every day in the state. In addition narcotics smuggling was uncontrolled and unabated under the noose of present dispensation, she added.
The Mahila Kisan Union leader informed that in the light of present stalemate, the farmers unions of Punjab, associated with the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha, have announced to hold an indefinite ‘Pakka Kisan Morcha’ in Chandigarh from May 17.
The farmer leader further added that even during the rule of Maan government, which came to power by giving guarantees and promises to the public, the sixth river of narcotic drugs and intoxication was flowing uncontrollably, which has been ‘swallowing’ the youth every day. “Instead of resolving the problems of the public and youngesters, CM Maan and his ministers are resoting to diverting public attention through exaggeration in media and advertisements.
In her address on the occasion, Union General Secretary Bibi Davinder Kaur appealed to all the women of Punjab to show their solidarity by becoming members of the only independent Mahila Kisan Union to realise their rights, welfare and improvement in the feminine status.
She further informed that the Mahila Kisan Union held a meeting at Haripur village near Jalandhar in which a large number of women from different villages participated. Expanding the horizon of organization further, a unit of Mahila Kisan Union was also formed for the Adampur constituency, she informed.
On this occasion Kuldeep Kaur, Inderjit Kaur, Jaswinder Kaur, Gurjit Kaur, Surinder Kaur, Nindi, Balveer Kaur, Surinder Kaur, Balbir Kaur, Davinder Kaur, Jaswinder Kaur, Sarabjit Kaur, Sukhwinder Kaur, Paramjit Kaur, Mohinder Kaur, Sukhminder Kaur, Mandeep Kaur, Darshan Kaur, Manjit Kaur, Shanti Devi, Harbans Kaur, Bachno, Pooja Rani, Kanta Devi, Karamjit Kaur, Harbhajan Kaur were also present.
