Chandigarh, February 18: Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA), being the State Designated Agency (SDA) for implementation of this special scheme organized the function for issuing the Farmers Letter of Award (LoA).
While inaugurating the function, Sardar H.S. Hanspal, Chairman, PEDA emphasized upon the need of Solar energy in the state of Punjab. The aim is to make our State clean, green and pollution free besides involving our Farmers in this unique growth model to partake in the fruits of prosperity.
Sh. Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa, IAS, Chief Executive Officer, PEDA highlighted the initiatives taken by PEDA in the state. He told that as a fast emerging Solar Energy Hub, Punjab is proactively promoting and facilitating Solar Power Generation, manufacturing of Solar equipment and installation of Solar Plants for domestic, commercial and agricultural use. Punjab assures a bankable long term PPA with the state power utility.
He further said that the Govt. of Punjab is promoting Solar Energy Projects by land owning Farmers with a minimum capacity of 1MWp to a maximum capacity of 2.5 MWp (per land owning farmer) in the State for sale of power to Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd. (PSPCL) at a fixed tariff of Rs. 3.20/Kwh. Director, PEDA thanked all the participants and requested to adopt Solar energy at their works and residences.
