On the directions of Mr. Aman Arora, Minister for New & Renewable Energy Sources, Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) has invited applications for the State Level Energy Conservation Awards from consumers/utilities/units which have taken extra efforts for efficient utilization, management and conservation of energy during the last two financial years 2020-21 and 2021-22 in the state of Punjab.
An official spokesperson of the New & Renewable Energy Sources Department said that as per the directions of the minister, these awards would be awarded in four broad categories including Energy Intensive Industries, Manufacturing Enterprises, Commercial Buildings and BEE Certified Energy Auditors.
The first prize in all the above categories would carry a cash reward of Rs 50,000 each while the second prize would be of Rs 30,000 each, said the spokesperson while adding that interested participants can download the questionnaires and detailed advertisement from the PEDA’s official website www.peda.gov.in . The application forms are also available at PEDA Head Office, Sector-33, Chandigarh. The extended date for submission of filled in questionnaires is 15th September, 2022.
He further added that the vision of Chief Minister S Bhagwant Mann and Mr. Aman Arora is to give recognition to the stakeholders who have made tremendous contribution and put constant efforts for efficient utilization of clean energy, energy conservation and promotion of energy efficiency. This step would go a long way to promote the energy conservation initiatives in the state.
Notably, PEDA is the state nodal agency for promotion and development of renewable energy programmes/projects and energy conservation programmes in Punjab.
