Chandigarh, January 2
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab has termed the 100 decisions taken by Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi as a betrayal of the people and said that the people of Punjab are ready to answer Congress’s deceit in 2022. Channi government will have to give an account in the people’s court about the lacs and crores of rupees being spent from the government exchequer on these disinforming advertisements and hoardings-flexes along with the breached promises and false announcements. Therefore, all the Congressmen including Channi should go among the people with caution and preparation.
In a statement issued from the party headquarters on Sunday, senior leader and Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema questioned Channi government’s advertisements about 100 decisions issued today, saying that only 25 decisions out of 100 are recorded in detail gazette of government advertisements. And in 25 per cent, the ground reality of these decisions, which have a direct relation with the public, overthrow the claims of the government. For example, in the judgment number 36, it has been said that the print rate of sand and gravel has been reduced from Rs 9 per cubic feet to Rs 5.5 per cubic feet, regarding which the notification was issued on 10 November 2021.
Cheema slammed Chief Minister Channi and said that the sand mafia continues as it is. Common people did not get any benefit from this hollow rhetoric. Aam Aadmi Party has exposed active sand mafia even after November 10 in the Chief Minister’s own constituency Chamkaur Sahib. Apart from this, big reports including photographs, documents of sand mafia were exposed by the media through news. Even Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu slams this claim of Channi government every other day through tweets. Similarly, commenting on the stipend scheme for meritorious students under a decision of November 27, Harpal Singh Cheema said that Channi and then minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot and gang, who committed a scholarship scam of billions of rupees and ruined the future of lakhs of SC students, what does Congress have to say about that.
Cheema said that in most of the decisions out of 100, the government itself believes that no policy has been prepared yet. For example, ‘Hajj House’ will be set up in Malerkotla (decision no. 64), free bus passes will be provided to all college students in the state (decision no. 73), and establishing a farmers’ memorial (decision no. 99) dedicated to the farmers who died during the agitation against the three anti-farm laws, but they are listed under “policy documents are being prepared”, meaning no policy has been prepared yet but the decision has been published.
Describing the Channi government as a liar even more than the Badal government and many times more fraudulent than the Captain, Cheema asked that how can Channi tell such a big lie to the people of Punjab regarding his November 3 decision to “cancel the power agreement”? Whereas private thermal plants of Talwandi Sabo, Rajpura and Govindgarh are still supplying electricity to Punjab at the same rate. Commenting on the decision number 25 to give uniforms to all the students at government schools up to class VIII, Harpal Singh Cheema said that winter has started and reached its peak but till now all the SC students and other students are not provided the promised uniforms. Cheema appealed to Chief Minister Channi not to make fun of the poverty of poor students.
Reacting sharply about their decision number 100 where Channi government has claimed to take the fight against drugs in Punjab to the last lap and an FIR against the culprits, Cheema said that in 100 days only one FIR has been registered against Bikram Singh Majithia, that too proved to be a political stunt. Because till date Majithia has not been arrested, because it is a fixed match. As a result, henious drugs trade continues in Punjab just as before.
Cheema asked Channi government that why the culprits of sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji were not punished and the sangat did not get justice till date? Cheema said that Chief Minister Channi and responsible ministers will also have to give account of all government false promises, including regularizing temporary employees, propaganda and false advertisements done with government money, because the people of Punjab cannot tolerate the lies of Congress anymore.
