Chandigarh, July 29: The Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM), All India Institute of Medical Sciences Bathinda (AIIMSB) and Punjab Ghar-Ghar Rozgaar& Karobar Mission(PGRKAM) signed a tripartite MoU to set up a Centre of Excellence in Health sector at AIIMSB for training of 200 nurses as Respiration Therapists so as to train them as master trainers.
Disclosing this here Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi, Employment Generation and Training Minister Punjab said that this will be a three months residential training wherein nurses will be trained and certified by AIIMS and their employment will be conducted by PGRKAM. These nurses will serve in the hospitals and will work as master trainers for training more nurses in the due course of time. The CoE has been envisioned by PSDM under SANKALP project of Ministry of Skill Development &Entrepreneurship wherein AIIMS will provide building, civil Infrastructure, best of the trainers, ventilators, live experience of ICUs and HDUs etc.
In the virtual MoU signing ceremony, Executive Director AIIMSB, Prof. DK Singh exchanged MoU with Director Employment Generation, Skill Development &Training, Mr. Harpreet Singh Sudan. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Bathinda, Sh. Paramvir Singh (IAS) also participated in the event.
Mr. Harpreet Sudan Director Employment Generation, Punjab stated that this is first of its type of association of any Skill Development Mission with any AIIMS for skill training. He further said this association will bring new synergy in the ecosystem and provide opportunities to the nurses of Punjab to upskill themselves on the latest technologies used in the health sector. Prof. DK Singh mentioned that AIIMS as a pioneer institution of health is committed for best of the services in health sector and this centre of Excellence will set new examples for skill training of nurses.
Others prominent present on the occasion included Dr. Kawaljit Singh Kaura, Asstt. Professor, Department of Urology, a team of eminent doctors- Prof. Col. Satish Gupta, Prof. Col. Devendra Rawat, Prof. L.Goyal, and Prof. Akhilesh Pathak.
