Amritsar, January 5, 2018: Punjab Human Rights Organisation (PURC) has urged Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) for conducting a fair probe into suicide case of Inderpreet Singh Chadha.
In the written representation to the CM, the PHRO chairman, Justice (retd) Ajit Singh Bains and its Principal Investigator, advocate Sarabjit Singh Verka requested the CM to appoint some DGP level officer as head of the proposed investigation team.
They pointed out that the deceased Chadha ,in his two suicide notes, had named the persons responsible for abetting the extreme step. Besides, the deceased also mentioned the link of his brother with Commissioner of Police, Amritsar and Rakesh Chandra, the ADGP.
But instead of registering the FIR on the basis of these suicide notes, the police registered the same on the complaint of the son of the deceased who was not aware of the facts, they argued.
The PHRO also urged the CM to get the FIR registered on the complaint of Ravinder Kaur Bumrah against the deceased and his father Charanjit Singh Chadha on December 28, 2017 investigated by the SIT since both disputes were inter-linked.
Charanjit Singh Chadha was expelled from Chief Khalsa Diwan after he was accused of sexual abuse by the woman in the sleazy video clip showing her and Chadha.
After the video clip went viral, the woman who was Principal of a school being run by Chief Khalsa Diwan, lodged a complaint against Chadha.
