Ferozepur, November 9, 2022: On Tuesday night 3 sorties of a drone was reported by BSF troops around 10-11pm after spotting multiple movements of a drone coming from Pakistan side into Indian territory crossing the fence.
Coordinated operation of Punjab Police and BSF resulted into recovery of Hexa-Copter drone, suspected to be involved in across the border smuggling and dropping of drugs and arm-ammunition.
On information all troops of BSF and Ferozepur police patrolling parties were alerted along with senior officer and area was cordoned in coordination with BSF officials.
Today, early morning search was started in suspected drone dropping area by BSF troops along with Punjab Police teams. Around 10am, on specific information and during area search operation, team of SHO Sadar Ferozepur with police team and along with BSF troop found a Hexa-Copter drone lying in fields of Village Wage Walla, which was seized immediately as per procedure.
SSP Ferozepur and DIG BSF Ferozepur along with senior official of police and BSF and other sister agencies also visited the spot. Alertness of BSF troops on border fencing has played important role in alarming the sister agencies regarding drone movements and further led to recovery of the drone.
Further investigation in this drone recovery case is being carried out scientifically by police in coordination with BSF and other sister security agencies.
