Chandigarh, March 7
Mr. Raj Kamal Chaudhary, Principal Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Punjab inaugurated an outbreak Cell at its Head Office situated at Sector-34, Chandigarh. On this occasion the Director Health and Family Welfare Dr. G.B. Singh and Director Health Services (FW) Dr. O.P. Gojra were also present.
In his inaugural address, Mr. Raj Kamal Chaudhary said that this cell of the Health Department would also assist in monitoring and reporting of contagious diseases like Influenza, Dengue, Malaria, Swine Flu, Cholera etc.The cell will monitor and analyze trends through data in identifying clusters / hotspots of such diseases. This cell has been fully computerized and will be supervised by a Deputy Director level officer. In this cell GIS of positive cases including data of Covid-19 will be displayed live on an LCD. He commended the Director of the Department and all the Health Officers for this initiative.
On this occasion Deputy Director Dr. Dr. Raju Dhir, Assistant Director Gagandeep Grover, Dr. Sandeep Singh Gill, Program Officer Dr. Shamindar Kang, Dr. Dapinder Singh and other officers and staff were also present.
