Ludhiana, February 19, 2018: Punjabi writers worked hard to get Punjabi language its place in forgen Countries like canada and USA. This was stated by Dr. Deepak Manmohan Singh Chief Patron Vishav Punjabi Bhaichara while honouring noted Punjabi personalities from USA and Canada.
Known as Raisin King of USA Mr Charanjit Singh Bath who is doing agricuture on about thirty thosand acres in Fresno, Mr. Mohan Gill a noted Punjabi Poet living in vancouver and Mr Ujjagar Singh Kanwal a noted punjabi poet and novelist living in Brampton were honoured.
Sharing his experiences, Mr Charanjit Singh Bath told that he migrated to USA in 1959. At that time a very few people were familiar to Punjabi language but with the hard work of writers Punjabi Language gets its proper place in USA.
Mohan Gill said that in the early seventies we faced discrimination because of our colour and language. We wirked hard and one can see Punjabi language along with english on the sign boards. Punjabi is being taught in canadian schools and collages. Punjabis have worked so hard to achieve name and fame. Dr Deepak Manmohan Singh said that Mr Charanjit Singh Bath’s contribution towatds Punjabi cannot be ignored as he alone organized a great World Punjabi Conferrence in 2016 at Fresno from his own pocket. He said that the next world punjabi conferrence will be organized by Mr Bath next year. Others among present were noted Poets Sawaranjit Savi,Trelochan Lochi and Sehajpreet Singh Mangat.
