Chandigarh, March 5: The Punjab Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary has in principle decided to give promotion to the eligible Anganwadi workers within one month.
It was disclosed by the Minister in a meeting with delegation of Anganwadi Workers at the Civil Secretariat to urge the minister to consider their long pending demands.
Disclosing this in a press comminique, Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary said that all the vacant posts of Aanganwadi Workers would be filled within stipulated time frame whereas all the eligible Anganwadi Workers would be promoted as Supervisors within one month.
The Minister gave her nod to increase the amount of rent to hire a building for setting up Aanganwadi Centres.
Mrs. Chaudhary apprised the delegation that she is trying hard to increase the honorarium of workers. She also directed Principal Secretary of the department to implement rationalization policy in a bid to strike balance of the availability of the Workers in each centre.
She instructed the Director Social Security to explore the possibilities of supplying ready to eat food by cutting the cost of fuel used to prepare the food. The Minister also gave assurance to redress other core issues which relates to other department by her personal intervention.
On the occasion Mrs. Raji P Srivastava, Secretary, Social Security, Women and Child Development, Mrs. Gurpreet Kaur Sapra, Director, Mrs. Rupinder Kaur, Deputy Director, Usha Rani, President Anganwadi Mulazim Union CITU, Harjeet Kaur, President Anganwadi Mulazim Union Punjab, Hargobind Kaur, President All Punjab Anganwadi Mulazim Union and Saroj Chhappriwala, President All India Workers’ Helpers Union were present.
