Property dealer rescued from kidnappers, 4 accused arrested

Chandigarh, March 5: The case of kidnapping of a property dealer of Zirakpur has been solved within a week’s time with the arrest of four persons. The four were arrested in an encounter with police in Saharanpur today. The dealer Sampuran Singh, who was kidnapped on February 28, was rescued from their custody.

The kidnappers had demanded a ransom amount of Rs 1 crore.

A team of police under the supervision of SSP Patiala arrested Subash, Vikas Bunty, Irshad and Nadeem for kidnapping Sampuran Singh of Zirakpur on February 28. The accused have been arrested from border dividing Haryana and Uttar Pradesh when the police was conducting a raid for recovery of Sampuran Singh.

The encounter took place at village Kalsi PS Tittro of district Sharanpur with the help of area police. During cross firing between Police and kidnappers, one of the accused got injured.
