Patiala, June 5: Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Monday assured the unemployed youth of the state that his government would soon generate more jobs in various departments and a blueprint for the same had been drafted.
Carrying forward his vision of “Ghar ghar rozgar and karobar”, the Chief Minister handed over appointment letters to 25 of the 3,683 candidates recruited by Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL). A total of 1,800 recruits got their letters on Monday.
The CM, who attended the function held by the PSPCL at the Punjabi University, said, “Vacancies exist in other departments too, which will be filled soon.”
Earlier, at the first death anniversary event of his mother Rajmata Mohinder Kaur, he recalled her words, exhorting him to do something for the farmers and the unemployed youth of the state. “Unfortunately, the government has inherited a massive debt burden with a mega fiscal mess, which will take time to be resolved.
The government is well on track towards the implementation of its farm debt waiver scheme, which will be completed by November,” he said.
The Chief Minister said around 1.65 lakh youth had been provided jobs since his government took over.
Congratulating the new recruits, who included assistant linemen, junior engineers, sub-station attendants and lower division clerks, Capt said the remaining recruits would receive their appointment letters within a month.
