Chandigarh, June 6: The council of ministers of Punjab government will meet at 3pm on Wednesday to decide the dates of budget session, which sources said would begin from June 15.
This is the first budget of Captain Amarinder Singh government, which took over in this year’s March.
This council of ministers is also expected to discuss the strategy to counter the opposition parties – the Aam Aadmi party and the Akaki-BJP combine who have decided to take on the government on the issue of sand mining auction which embroiled into major controversy over benami dealings of power and irrigation minister Rana Gurjit Singh.
The ministers are also likely to discuss modalities of a law on confiscation of properties of drug dealers. Another important law – Punjab control of organized crime act (PCOCA), which the government is working on since it assumed charge, is also expected to come up for discussion.
